About Shawn Jay Krishnan, M.D.
I am an academic hospitalist that has trained to take care of both pediatric and adult patients across a variety of clinical contexts. The field of hospital medicine allows me to collaborate in with other healthcare professionals in teams to make the inpatient experience of my patients as painless as possible. I am passionate about easing the transition process for pediatric to adult care as well as improving healthcare equity and delivery for my patients. I am also interested in being a clinical mentor to other medical students and trainees. After spending my training in San Diego, I am excited to be a part of the New York City community at Cornell.
Dr. Shawn Krishnan works as an academic hospitalist who joined the division of Hospital Medicine at 91Â鶹¾«Æ· in 2025. After obtaining his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). At Cornell, he will be working in both the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics departments. He is passionate about easing the transition process to adult care for complex pediatric patients. He is also interested in improving medical education, quality improvement initiatives for healthcare operations, and working to make healthcare more equitable for his patients.
